One Thing You Need to Remember...
Happy Thanksgiving!
(and to those of you who aren't states side... Thanks for checkin' in.)
It's my favorite holiday. Family, Friends and lots of great Food... and a simple, but so important theme.
Give. Thanks.
I'm going to breathe that in and out this week...no matter what "dramatics" happen. And let's face it... there are usually some hi-jinx and mayhem when you bring family, friends, and a huge feast that needs to all be timed out and presented "perfectly."
And thank goodness for it! Otherwise the holidays would just run into each other... like the gravy going from the potatoes to the meat, then the dressing and then finally over into your veggies. Ew.
I'm not sure about you... but dessert is the best at my family feast. Filled with pies and choices of ice cream or homemade whipped cream. We usually serve it three different times. Right after dinner... then again, after all the dishes are finally done, and then again in the morning for breakfast. You know, cuz pie has fruit. And honestly, the pumpkin pie a day later is always better. Especially with your morning coffee.
Yea... my mouth is watering right now and my jeans already feel a bit more snug just thinking about it.
Thank goodness I'm going to run a 1/2 marathon on Sunday.
What? Where did that come from?
Yea.
I'm going crazy y'all. And I fully own it. (My Instgram handle is @crazymamaoffivelittles.)
But here's the deal... I have no intention of running the full 1/2 marathon. That sounds kinda weird saying that. "A full 1/2 marathon." Anyway, I fully plan to walk most of it, albeit really fast walking. I'm meeting my best friend Amy, my college roommate, who taught me how and what to drink. (Stay away from free white wine at the corner Chinese Restaurant) and what it was like to finally have a best friend who wore exactly my same dress and shoe size.
Amy made my freshman year of college AMAZING and because of her, and the amazing friendship that blossomed, I will be forever thankful that I listened to my parents threats and actually went to college.
Every other year, Amy and I do this trip. It started out when we were ambitious and wanting to keep our late 20 year old bodies...afraid they would leave us if we didn't run these asinine amount of miles. Now we run for mental therapy and the amount of miles we run is just coincidence.
I think. Yea, I'm pretty sure.
So... needless to say, this weekend is going to be a bit busy. From the Twin Cities to Milwaukee, back to the Twin Cities and then off to Seattle and then back home to the Twin Cities.
I could of planned it better... like skip the big feast back home, and just go to Seattle. But then, you know, I'd miss dessert.
Yea. Not an option.
So, if you're traveling a bit this weekend and need a new song on your playlist: this is what's playin' on repeat in my world these days.
But feel free to add it to your playlist while your running around during this festive season. Oh, and I'd love to hear what you're lovin' on your playlist these days. I'm always looking for new music. Please share in the comments!
Safe travels y'all, and we'll see you next week with something a bit more "businessy"
